Hyperlapse to The Forks in 150 Seconds: Captured with the DJI Action 5 Pro + Motion Blur

Hyperlapse to The Forks in 150 Seconds: Captured with the DJI Action 5 Pro + Motion Blur

What happens when you combine a sunny day, a bike ride to The Forks, and some serious motion blur magic? You get a 150-second hyperlapse that turns a simple ride into something cinematic.

This post breaks down how I filmed, edited, and polished a fast-paced, flowing POV ride using the DJI Action 5 Pro, Insta360 Studio, and Filmora—plus a voiceover to bring it all together.

🚴 The Ride: Smooth, Fast, and Familiar

The route to The Forks is one of my go-to resets. Whether it’s for clearing my head or testing new gear, the winding trails, underpasses, and river views make it perfect for a creative spin.

This time, I shot the entire ride in hyperlapse mode on the DJI Action 5 Pro, then added motion blur using Insta360 Studio to smooth things out. The result? A fast, immersive look at the city—without losing the flow.

🎥 Gear Used

  • Camera: DJI Action 5 Pro (4K Hyperlapse)

  • Software: Insta360 Studio (for motion blur)

  • Editor: Filmora (voiceover + music)

  • Mount: Chin mount POV

  • Export: 4K MP4, 60Mbps bitrate

🎞 How I Added Motion Blur Without Using Filmora's

Filmora’s motion blur? Let’s be honest—it’s not great. That’s why I used Insta360 Studio instead.

After filming in hyperlapse mode, I imported the clip into Insta360 Studio and applied motion blur at strength 15, spread angle 10–15°. This gave the footage that smooth, fast-flowing look that Filmora just can’t match.

I then exported it at 4K 30fps, 80 Mbps, ready for editing.

🎙 Adding Voice & Music in Filmora

With the blurred clip done, I brought it into Filmora and added:

  • A custom voiceover talking through the ride

  • Music (using premium credits) to match the vibe

  • Light color tweaks and fade transitions

If you’re editing hyperlapse content, this approach saves time and delivers pro-level results—even in Filmora.

Start your motion blur settings at:
