Multiport USB-C Charger: Total Watts vs Port Allocation

Understand the difference
Multiport chargers advertise a combined power figure, but that is not necessarily available from one socket. A supply labelled 100 watts might allocate its output differently when a laptop and two phones are connected. Check the manufacturer's documented power-sharing table.
What the first option offers
One USB-C port may support a higher Power Delivery profile when used alone. Devices negotiate the voltage and current they can accept, so a capable charger should not force its entire output into a compatible lower-power phone. Cable ratings also matter.

Trade-offs of the alternative
Adding devices can cause some chargers to divide power or briefly restart ports. That can matter when powering a camera that must record uninterrupted. A multiport supply with convenient sockets is not automatically appropriate for all-day external recording.
Practical fit and compatibility
Inspect the actual charger specifications, not merely a comparison chart made by a reseller. USB-A ports may have different limits, and a USB-C cable advertised for charging does not guarantee high data rates for external storage transfers.
Safety and upkeep
Good thermal design and safe placement deserve attention. Do not cover a powered charger with clothing or put it beneath a blanket. Inspect pins, casing and cable jackets and stop using a supply that becomes damaged or repeatedly disconnects.
Making a sensible purchase
Choose the charger whose individual and shared output profiles match the real combination of devices. A smaller supply with clearly documented behaviour can be more useful than a bigger total number paired with confusing port restrictions.
Before relying on the setup
Make a list of your phone, camera and tablet charging requirements, then test the connections you would actually use together. Check whether connecting the third device interrupts the first. Keep the unit on a ventilated solid surface and avoid unverified adapters. For a long filming event, a dedicated supported power source may be safer than relying on complicated multi-device sharing.
Compare current products
Verify current manufacturer specifications, compatibility, retailer terms and warranty information before ordering.
